Congress Passes "Put Grandma to Work" Bill

 Voting along party lines, Republicans in Congress have approved the "Medicaid Enhancement" bill. 

The bill frees billions of dollars in taxes for the rich, while cutting Medicaid benefits.

A key provision of the bill contains new work requirements for Medicaid recipients.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson noted, "There are over a million residents in America's nursing homes, and over sixty percent of those receive Medicaid benefits."

"With our new work requirements, we can move these old folks into productive jobs that will offset the labor losses of deported immigrants."

Work opportunities vary from state to state, Johnson continued. "In California and Florida, our seniors can find plentiful work picking fruit and vegetables.  In Iowa, meat packing plants have trouble finding people to clean and repair butchering equipment."

"Every state will need construction workers, ranging from roofers to asphalt paving crews."

"Even those in assisted living dementia units can find a government job in the highest office in the land."
